Important Announcement: The CLOSURE of The Cupcake Girls
An Update on Our Operations and Mission Legacy
For over 15 years, The Cupcake Girls has been a dedicated space of respect and resources for those in the sex industry and survivors of sex trafficking. Our mission has always been to provide nonjudgmental support, advocacy, and a community that meets every individual exactly where they are.
After careful consideration and a strategic review of our long-term sustainability, the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to formally dissolve The Cupcake Girls as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. As we move through this transition, our primary focus remains the well-being and privacy of our participants.
Key Transition Dates:
April 30th, 2026: All active programs, including Advocacy and Mentorship, will officially conclude.
May 8th, 2026: Our physical office locations and all general business operations will close permanently.
What This Means for Our Community:
For Participants: Our team has been and are currently working one-on-one with active participants to facilitate a "soft landing." We are transitioning care to vetted community partners who share our "Rights Not Rescue" philosophy.
For Volunteers & Interns: We are deeply grateful for the hundreds of thousands of hours you have dedicated to this cause. While our formal programs are ending, the trauma-informed advocacy you have learned will continue to impact the community through your future endeavors.
Data Privacy: The protection of all participant information remains our highest priority. All participant records and sensitive data are being handled with the utmost security, following Nevada state law and strict confidentiality protocols, including secure destruction or transfer to HIPAA-compliant successors.
Our Legacy: While our doors are closing, the movement of nonjudgmental support and "respect and resources" does not end here. We are incredibly proud of the thousands of lives touched and the national network of providers we have helped establish.
We want to thank our donors, partners, and community members for 15 years of unwavering support. You helped us prove that a community rooted in respect can truly change lives.
With deepest gratitude,
The Board of Directors and Staff
The Cupcake Girls
